Talented full-back Ioan Davies has officially joined Dragons after committing his future to the Men of Gwent.
Davies initially Dragons on loan from the Cardiff Blues during the 2020/2021 campaign.
The 21-year-old made four appearances during the inaugural Rainbow Cup competition and has now signed on a permanent basis with the region.
Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby, said: “We’re pleased to agree a contract with Ioan and look forward to his continued development in our environment.
“Ioan is a talented young player with a bright future who is very determined to earn the opportunity to play here and be a success with Dragons.”
A powerful runner and counter-attacking threat from deep, Davies first rose to prominence in 2018 when he starred for Wales Under-18s at Sardis Road in a fixture England.
Davies enjoyed an impressive Rainbow Cup campaign last season and will bolster Ryan’s back three options heading into the 2021/2022 United Rugby Championship and European Challenge Cup season.
“I’m really happy to sign permanently and excited about the future,” said Davies.
“I’ve been here since February, have settled in well and enjoy both the environment that has been built and the aspirations the region has for the future.
“I’m now looking forward to kicking on in the new season and working hard to continue to improve and secure more chances to play.”
