A good friend of the Dragons, Darren Thomas, had taken up the challenge of running from Holyhead in North Wales to Rodney Parade in South Wales from Monday, May 31 - running a total distance of 201 miles.
Darren completed the amazing challenge when he arrived at Rodney Parade on Friday 4th June at 5pm and has raised a lot of money for a brilliant cause with his incredible feat.
All money raised will be given to Signposted Cymru a charity dedicated to getting people the mental health support they need.
Founder of the new charity, Darren started a community-based boot camp that was free to attend during the 2020 pandemic/lockdown.
Those who attended were suffering from mental health issues and Signposted Cymru gave focus and goals through testing times. Darren struggled himself with mental health for two years and recorded his journey by posting vlogs on social media including boot camp sessions.
As a result, the community they built created a network of support for each other and it grew throughout the UK and escalated quickly.
Their aim is to become a self-sustaining charity with a reputation for developing and delivering community based mental health and well-being services.
Signposted Cymru offers initial and immediate intervention for individuals struggling and needing support with mental health/well-being challenges. By offering responsive, tailored support for people and communities to help build brighter futures.
