The transformation of the Rodney Parade pitch is officially on the up – with phase one of the building process back to the surface now taking place.
Our contractors, South Wales Sports Grounds, remain on site with us and have this week completed installing the connecting drains alongside the new main drain.
Phase one of the building process back up to the surface has also started with gritstone eventually going down across the entire pitch area.
There have also been developments to the changing rooms, which includes an extension to the home changing area that will double the floor space.
A new floor is also being installed in the Physio Room to make it more medically friendly for staff.
Jon Raymond, Facilities Manager at Dragons Rugby, said: “It’s great to see the progress being made here week on week and the contractors have been absolutely fantastic.
“The drains are now installed, and we’ve begun the exciting process of rebuilding the pitch back up to the surface. Phase one has been laying the gritstone and that is nearing completion.
“The weather has again been kind to us this last week, and the team of contractors are really getting stuck into the project and remain on schedule.”
