Prop Lloyd Fairbrother has become the latest Dragon to commit his long-term future to the region after signing a new contract.
Ultra-consistent front rower Fairbrother – who has played over a century of games for the Men of Gwent – has today put pen to paper to continue his successful career at Rodney Parade.
The 29-year-old joins the likes of Ollie Griffiths, Sam Davies, Elliot Dee, Leon Brown, Aaron Wainwright, Harrison Keddie and Jamie Roberts in agreeing new terms.
“Lloyd has become a bedrock of our group and I’ve been really pleased with his progress over the last few seasons,” said Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby.
“He gives us real stability and he is totally committed to playing his part in moving us forward as a squad.”
Born in Cornwall, Fairbrother joined Dragons in the summer of 2014 and made his debut against Connacht Rugby later that year.
The hugely popular front row – who has also had playing spells with Exeter Chiefs, Moseley, Cornish Pirates and Plymouth Albion – hit the hundred game milestone in the 2018/19 season against Northampton Saints.
Fairbrother has so far played 138 games for Dragons – putting him at 13th in the all-time appearance-makers for the region.
“I’ve made my home in Wales, made my family here and I’m really enjoying my time as a Dragon,” said Fairbrother.
“Dean (Ryan) has made this a place where every day you strive to get better and every day you work hard.
“I know good things are around the corner and, after seven seasons here, I know it will be so worth it. I’m excited to stay and continue my journey with Dragons.
“The fans have also been fantastic with me during my at the region and I can’t wait for them to be able to come home and return to Rodney Parade.”
