The work has started! A busy summer of activity at Rodney Parade commenced today (Wednesday) as the pitch and stadium at the home of Dragons Rugby started its big renovation.
South Wales Sports Grounds arrived at the venue this morning to kick-off the project that will last until the beginning of August.
Contractors will start to remove the existing surface and go down 300mm to remove sand and topsoil over the next 10 days.
Floodlighting and Electrical Services are also with us to take out the old floodlighting that will be replaced with a new LED system ahead of next season.
Jon Raymond, Facilities Manager at Dragons Rugby, said: “It’s the first day of next season and the start of an exciting period at Rodney Parade.
“Our thanks go to all our contractors as they start work as part of this extensive project.
“We will keep supporters updated throughout this process with the latest photos and videos from the home of the Dragons.”
