Dragons will have to wait to discover the seriousness of the knee injury suffered by Wales international Ross Moriarty, admitted boss Dean Ryan.
Moriarty made his return to the starting line-up for the Men of Gwent in the United Rugby Championship clash with Cell C Sharks at Hollywoodbets Kings Park in Durban.
But after an impressive opening half hour on his return, Moriarty was carried off in discomfort after a heavy collision in defence.
“We’ll have to wait and see. He has injured a knee and I am not quite sure to what extent that is,” said Ryan.
“Ross was desperate to get back playing and he is probably one of the handful of players that can really impose themselves physically on a South African side.
“He was really looking forward to this and into next week (against Gloucester). We will have to wait and see.
“We don’t have many bodies like Ross so when we lose them the impact is huge.”
