Rio Dyer insists Dragons RFC are ready to fire in the big derby day and give back to the fans who have stood by them throughout 2022.
Wing wonder Dyer has enjoyed an eye-catching last 12 months that has seen him catapulted from club star to international try scorer for Wales.
The 23-year-old, though, insists all his focus now is on action with Dragons and the big upcoming BKT United Rugby Championship derby with Cardiff Rugby on Boxing Day (kick-off 2.15pm).
“All the Welsh teams are excited for derbies. You're playing against your biggest rivals,” he said.
“We should have been better than we were last week (against Pau). We didn’t get the performance we wanted, and we immediately put the focus on the derby.
“We all know that mentally we'll all be there ready for it. We're excited.
“A sold-out Rodney Parade - there's nothing better. The fans there are amazing.
“When the fans are behind us, all the boys have said it is like that extra man.
“We want to prove to them what we can do. Maybe we have not given back in the past, but we want to go out there and show we can get the result.”
