Keddie: Home fans have been class

23/10/2022

Back row Harri Keddie has praised the Rodney Parade faithful for creating a ‘class’ atmosphere at home this season – and urged them to crank up the volume again on derby day!

Keddie will hit a century of games when he runs out for the BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Ospreys tomorrow afternoon (Sunday).

The 26-year-old is looking forward to getting back on home soil and in front of a partisan home crowd who have made their voices heard in games with Munster and Cell C Sharks.

“I hope the crowd is the same as the last two games,” he smiled.

“It’s a very old school (at Rodney Parade) where you feel like the crowd is very close to you, particular on the touchline. It makes a great atmosphere.

“It makes a really good environment and gives you that extra energy as a player.

“The first two home games we’ve had this year the crowd has been class. Hopefully they can recreate that this weekend for us,” he added.

“The crowd are right on top of you, particularly near the old stand, and it can make it noisy at times. You can hear them all shouting - I love it!”
