Tighthead Lloyd Fairbrother is relishing being handed a starting spot for Dragons RFC this evening.
The 30-year-old Cornishman last ran out with the team to start a game at Cardiff City Stadium in May 2021.
However, a ruptured Achilles in the capital that day saw the prop out of action until a return at the tail-end of last season.
Now back fully fit, Fairbrother starts against Wasps this evening eager to make up for lost time and with one eye on league hostilities late this month.
“I’m very excited to be starting,” said Fairbrother. “It has been a long time coming for me.
“I managed to make the end of last season with a couple of games off the bench, but I have a good pre-season under my belt now and I’m looking forward to my first start back. Excited to get that jersey on.
“I have had such a long time out of the game, it’s just getting used to it again because the body does get a bit sore, and chassis is a bit rusty.
“I’m feeling good, and I just want to keep pushing on now, get confident and hopefully have a good season.”
