Dragons RFC Women Under-18s lost out to Cardiff Rugby as the Women’s U18 Regional competition kicked off on Sunday afternoon at Cardiff Arms Park.
Hosts Cardiff secured a try bonus point in a 20-0 win over the Dragons in the opening match of the day.
Home Number Eight Gwennan Hopkins showed how powerful carrying skills to score two first half tries.
Further scores from Seren Lockwood and Shanelle Williams put the hosts in control by the break.
An impressive second half show from Dragons saw them keep Cardiff Rugby out and just fail to cross line as the hosts took maximum points from the opening round.
