Powerhouse prop Aki Seiuli insists Dragons will be ready for the challenge of facing Vodacom Bulls in the BKT United Rugby Championship at Rodney Parade this evening (kick-off 7.35pm).
The Men of Gwent are on home soil for the first time in 2023 and face a stern examination from a powerful South African unit.
Bulls have named no less than 10 full internationals in the match day 23 and were runners-up last season in the league.
But after the disappointment of derby defeat to Scarlets, Seiuli insists the Dragons must be ready to meet fire with fire.
“It's always a good challenge against the South Africans – they have some big boys,” he smiled.
“They will be big, strong, and physical so it'll be big job for the forwards up front and one we can’t shy away from.
“We're just looking forward to being back out there and making amends.
“It's obviously disappointing losing a big derby last week. I felt it was a game that we could have won,” he added.
“We made some wrong decisions and things that we can learn from. “
The good thing about the short turnaround is that we can make up for it quick and get back on the field and show what we can really do.
“We’ve got a big job to do at home and we’ve got to understand the size of that challenge. It’s something that we're really looking forward.”
