Rhodri Williams insists Dragons RFC must produce an ’80-minute performance’ to secure a win against the league‘s form side as he makes a welcome return to Rodney Parade today.
Scrum half Williams starts this afternoon against Glasgow Warriors as BKT United Rugby Championship action explodes back into life in Newport (kick-off 3pm).
Williams – who made his return as a replacement last weekend against Emirates Lions in Europe – will be a key figure as the Men of Gwent look to upset the in-form Scottish club.
Franco Smith’s men have won their last four in the BKT United Rugby Championship since their 5-40 reversal at the hands of Leinster in Dublin in November.
They are also an impressive eight unbeaten in all competitions.
“I’m looking forward to the weekend at Rodney Parade,” said the 29-year-old Williams. “It’s another good test.
“Glasgow like to chuck the ball about; they are an exciting side that will test you with ball in hand.
“The way they run the ball back, the kick return, is a real challenge that we will look at.
“We’ve got to get our elements right and hopefully we can put in full 80-minute performance. That is our main target.”
