Staff from Dragons RFC recently visited commercial partners, Napier Catering, and owners Phil and Claire Cooke at the fantastic 57 Bridge Street in Usk.
Opened in 2018, upmarket Deli, Bar and Kitchen venue 57 Bridge Street has become the place to dine, shop and unwind in Usk and is the latest success story of our partners Napier Catering.
Napier Catering - who hold a hospitality box at Rodney Parade - provided Rodney Parade staff with a tour of the restaurant and gave a great account of how the business has expanded over the years.
Phil and Claire Cooke met at hotel school in Torquay before going on to complete degrees in hospitality at Bournemouth University.
Growing up in the family hotel in Cornwall meant good food and service were in Claire’s blood from an early age, while Phil grew up in the South Wales mining village of Oakdale and found his way into hospitality from the age of 14.
Having established Napier Catering 17 years ago, the couple have developed the brand to now include weddings and events catering, contract catering, food manufacturing, catering consultancy services and Usk River - a range of delicious, innovative, multi Great Taste award-winning natural preserves, all hand-made in the Usk Valley. All this while the successful Deli, Bar and Kitchen in Usk - 57 Bridge Street - has continued to grow from strength to strength.
The Napier Group employs over 40 people from its base in Usk, hold contracts in Essex and Portbury and are the sole caterer at Berkeley Castle and Bredon Manor and all South Wales Police planned events. Working with the police, Napier Catering has found its niche and has successfully secured the tender for the past 15 years.
