Fly half Angus O’Brien believes young star Will Reed can light up the BKT United Rugby Championship with Dragons RFC this season.
Dragons Academy graduate Reed is currently playing at ten with O’Brien on the sidelines after an unfortunate forearm fracture.
Reed, 22, produced another composed display in the league victory over Ospreys last weekend and O’Brien is backing the youngster to now impress in South Africa and beyond.
“Will is a really good player - he's learning every day,” said O’Brien.
“I watched him a lot playing for Newport, when my brother was outside them at 12.
“He played a lot of rugby last season and, for me and him, it's about just being as competitive as we can every day in training and learning from each other.
“Will is going to be a very good player and an integral part of this club for a long time,” he added.
“He's got all the attributes to be a top end player and the more he plays and the more experience he gets, he's just going to keep getting better, which is great for this club.”
