Dragons RFC Community volunteer Morgan Steed – a familiar face around Rodney Parade – saw his work with the club celebrated last week when he picked up a top gong at the Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards.
Morgan started working with our award-winning Community team in November 2022 - and he has quickly become a firm favourite at Dragons.
Morgan has autism, dyslexia and dyspraxia and attends CPI Care Day Centre in Newport. This day centre caters for adults with additional needs, supporting service users and helping them learn life skills for day to day living. The aim is to help them with their independence and help them to live with or without supportive living.
He has been working alongside Karen Burgess – our Community Inclusion Officer – over the last year, with Morgan helping deliver a range of programmes and projects.
And his work was celebrated last week when he won the Phylyp Butler Memorial Cup Recognition Award.
The Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards – that celebrate the achievements within Caerphilly County Borough – were held at Bryn Meadows in Maesycwmmer, with volunteers, coaches and clubs receiving prizes for their outstanding contributions.
