Dragons RFC were recently invited to present at the South East Wales (SEW) Business Climate Coalition - #SEWBCC - Net Zero Action Event at Newport Market.
David Watts, Commercial Executive and Sustainability lead at Rodney Parade, addressed guests on the club’s Eco Dragons initiative and our sustainability work alongside several key partners, including Pledgeball.
In an era where our environmental responsibilities and challenges are more critical than ever, the SEW Business Climate Coalition has surfaced with a forward-thinking approach dedicated to promoting sustainability and expediting the path towards achieving net-zero emissions.
The SEW Business Climate Coalition - supported by the Cardiff Capital Region - is a collaborative effort that unites businesses of all sizes in South East Wales. Their core mission is to empower these businesses with the knowledge, resources, and a collective voice that enables them to take meaningful action towards achieving net-zero emissions. The coalition is not just about environmental responsibility; it’s about reshaping the business culture within the private sector to demonstrate that economic growth can coexist with environmentally sustainable decision-making.
David Watts, from Dragons RFC, said: “It was fantastic to get the opportunity to address delegates at the Net Zero Action Event at Newport Market and talk through our work this season and future plans.
“It was inspiring to hear from so many businesses committed to achieving decarbonisation and get to discuss key topics including accessing green skills, funding initiatives for achieving net zero ambitions, and listen to updates from the likes of the Welsh Government and National Grid.
“We look forward to continuing to support the work of the SEW Climate Coalition in the years ahead."
