The final signing after a busy week of #NextGen news! Dragons RFC are delighted to announce that back row forward Ryan Woodman – one of the most exciting young talents in Welsh rugby – has agreed a contract extension with the club.
Woodman, who has captained his country at Under-20s level, made his senior debut for the Men of Gwent in December 2022.
The talented 20-year-old from Caldicot has made a total of 10 appearances for Dai Flanagan’s men, scoring a first senior try against Munster in November last year.
Woodman’s signing concludes a busy week of contract news with Harri Ackerman, Joe Westwood, Morgan Lloyd, Che Hope, Oli Andrew, Ewan Rosser, and Sam Scarfe all agreeing fresh contracts.
Head Coach Dai Flanagan said: “Ryan is an exceptional talent so news that he has signed a contract extension with us should be welcomed by everyone connected with Dragons RFC.
“It is our job to ensure that Ryan fulfils the huge potential he has.
“Having captained Wales at Under-20s level so impressively, there is clearly a level of expectation around Ryan. It is our job to ensure we work stringently to the plan in place for him to aid his development and growth in the long-term.
“Ryan undoubtedly has the temperament, talent, leadership skills and maturity to go to the very top and we’re excited that he will remain a Dragon and what the future holds for him.”
