Dragons RFC can confirm that experienced tighthead prop Dmitri Arhip has signed a new deal with the Men of Gwent – one of several key front rowers to agree fresh terms.
Arhip – who initially joined Dragons last season on a short-term contract - has now put pen to paper to extend this stay for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
The Moldovan strongman adds to the front row resources available to Head Coach Dai Flanagan ahead of the new BKT United Rugby Championship season, that kicks-off on September 21 against Ospreys.
Dai Flanagan said: “It’s great news that Dmitri has agreed new terms with us. He is a rock-solid performer, a total professional and vastly experienced tighthead who adds a huge amount to our squad.
“His outstanding performance off the bench in our final game of the season against Scarlets really showcased what he is all about. He was destructive in the scrum and showed our fans what he is all about.”
Dragons have also announced that props Leon Brown, Chris Coleman, Rodrigo Martinez and Luke Yendle have signed extensions alongside hooker James Benjamin.
“We are pleased that a number of our talented front rowers have also agreed new deals,” added Flanagan.
“We’re excited to see them continue their journey with us and they understand there is a very real expectation on them to kick on and perform.”
