Revamped Academy backroom team

Dragons RFC have today confirmed an expanded and revamped backroom team for the club’s Academy system ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The new-look structure is headed up by James Chapron, who is named Head of Player Development, alongside Lewis Roberts, confirmed as Academy Manager, and former Wales international Cerys Hale, who continues her outstanding work as the Pathway Co-ordinator.

Jack Condy will operate as Senior Academy Coach alongside Tom Hancock, who joins the club after working with Scarlets Academy.

Former Wales international and popular figure Ceri Jones returns to the club, after three years working with RGC, to take on an Academy Coach role alongside Adam Thomas.

Isobel Fisher will arrive as Head of Academy Medical Services, and is joined by Lily Jones who is named Academy Physiotherapist.

Ellis Brindley continues as Head of Academy Physical Performance, working alongside Matthew Pole remains in his role as Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach. Morgan Akrill starts his second season at the club as Academy Analyst.

Dragons RFC Head Coach Dai Flanagan said: “We want to produce the very best homegrown players through our pathway system, so the investment and expansion of our Academy set-up is an important milestone for the club.

“Having a Head of Player Development in place, alongside an Academy Manager and Pathway Co-ordinator, plus the very best coaches, strength and conditioning staff and medics, ensures we have the best team in place for every young Dragon in our system.”
