Dragons RFC forward George Young will miss the rest of this season after suffering a pectoral injury.
Dragons Academy product Young made his first senior start for the Men of Gwent in the BKT United Rugby Championship fixture with Glasgow Warriors last weekend.
However, the flanker was forced off after 11 minutes through injury and it has now been confirmed that Young faces a spell on the sidelines with a pectoral injury.
The 22-year-old - who has made seven senior appearances for the club – will now undergo surgery next week before commencing a period of rehabilitation.
Head Coach Dai Flanagan said: “It’s a big disappointment that George has suffered this injury at a time when he was pushing for an extended run in the match day squad.
“However, George is a driven young man who will work extremely hard to make a full recovery and return to action as soon as possible. We wish him well with his recovery.”
