Newport’s biggest and best fireworks display for all the family is back this weekend – and we have all your FAQs for the event!
Capital Fireworks on Parade returns on Sunday (November 3) at Rodney Parade. This hugely popular event – that has been attended by thousands of revellers in previous years – is the must-see date in the diary for Newport in 2024! For all your FAQs ahead of the night... read below!
What time do Gates open?
The Gates will open from 4pm. Please note access will via either the Main Gate, situated off Grafton Road, or via the gates situated on Rodney Road.
Can I purchase tickets on the day?
We recommend purchase of tickets in advance. (last year tickets were sold out prior to the day of the event) If tickets are still available, you can purchase on the day in person from the Ticket Office between 1pm to 3pm or online until 6pm. Admission is via ticket only, please bring everything you need, as there is a strict “no readmittance” policy at the stadium, which is in place for everyone’s safety.
Do I have to pay for my child if they are under 12 months?
Babes in arms are classified as FREE of charge for this event. Buggies and strollers are permitted.
Will there be parking available on the day?
Unfortunately, there is no car parking availability at Rodney Parade. For car parking please follow directions for the city centre once you have departed the motorway. Car parks at both Friars Walk and Kingsway are available and a short walk across the Millennium River Bridge. The entrance on Rodney Road is a short distance from the Bridge.
Will there be catering and refreshments options?
Yes, an expanded range of outlets will be available throughout the event. These outlets include Dirty Loaded Fries, Gourmet Sausage, Yorkie Wrap, Chicken Shack, Vegan Only Unit, Burger, Hotdogs, Sweets plus numerous bars and coffee stalls.
Will the Stadium Club Shop be open on the day?
Yes, the Club Shop (situated within the Bisley Stand) will be open during the event. Please note, the store will close at approximately 7pm prior to the commencement of fireworks.
What time will the entertainment start?
Live entertainment will start from 4.30pm. The evening’s entertainment includes live performances from The Rogues (4.30pm) and George Ezra (5pm) and Ed Sheeran (6.15pm) tribute act, Tom White. Please note, the Fireworks display are due to start around 7:30pm.
Will there be children's activities available?
Yes, in addition to the live entertainment and fireworks, children’s soft play will be available (FREE of charge) within the marquee. In addition, we will be joined by a range of furry mascot friends! A fairground for young children will also be available (charges apply)
Can I bring my own food and drink into the event?
No, food and drink are not allowed to be brought into the venue.
Can I bring a camping chair into the ground?
Yes, but you will only be able to use them within a designated area away from the stage.
What should I wear?
Please be prepared for all weather conditions as this is an open-air event being held on the training field - not inside the stadium. The best view will be from the grass training field so appropriate footwear is also recommended.
Can I bring sparklers into the ground?
No, they present a hazard within an event of this size and, as a result, for everyone’s safety they will not be allowed inside.Children’s glow sticks will be available for purchase.
Where is the best place to view the display ?
The Fireworks display viewing area is on the grass training pitch in front of the stage. Several entertainment areas are within the “fall out” zone, and these will be closed and cleared prior to the actual display. Please follow the stewards’ instructions prior to the commencement of the display.

Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for Under-16s. Babes in arms are FREE. A family ticket (two adults and two Under-16s) is also available for £25.
