Dragons RFC are pleased to announce Samoa international prop Aki Seiuli is returning to Rodney Parade after re-signing with the Men of Gwent.
The hugely popular prop – who previously played 50 times for the club over three seasons – has agreed terms to make a return before linking up with Utah Warriors in the MLR in 2025.
Seiuli, 31, arrived in Wales today (Friday) and will boost the club’s front row resources with looseheads Rhodri Jones, Josh Reynolds, Dylan Kelleher-Griffiths, and Jordan Morris all currently sidelined.
“We’re delighted to bring Aki back on a deal that will run into the New Year,” said Head Coach Dai Flanagan.
“He is an international prop who has vast experience in our competitions and who always performs to a very high standard.
“Aki is not just a great professional; he’s a positive character who knows our environment and will fit seamlessly into what we are building.
“I’m sure our fans will also be pleased to see him return and give him a fantastic reception when he runs back out in our colours.”
Seiuli first moved to Rodney Parade in 2021 after two years at Glasgow Warriors. The front row had spells with Otago and the Highlanders before his move to the Northern Hemisphere in 2019.
He made his Samoa debut in 2022, as his country won the Pacific Nations Cup in Fiji. He has now made nine appearances for his country.
“I’m excited to get back with Dragons and looking forward to seeing everyone and working hard for an opportunity to get back out on the field,” said Seiuli.
“I’ve been keeping a close eye on Dragons and have been impressed by the performances the team have put in so far this season.
“I’m really happy to be back to help the lads wherever I can, on and off the field, and hopefully we can get work together to get some great results.”
