Dragons RFC can confirm that Jonathan Westwood has been appointed the club’s new Head of Recruitment.
Westwood, who has worked at the club since 2018 and been a driving force behind off field developments, will work closely with Head Coach Dai Flanagan on retention and recruitment planning and delivery.
“We’re really pleased that Jonathan is taking on this important role,” said Flanagan.
“His appointment is vital for the club as we look to elevate our recruitment and retention process going forward.
“We’re very aligned on the way forward and I’m looking forward to now working closely together with Jonathan in this area.”
Westwood takes on the role with huge pedigree in Gwent rugby.
His playing career saw him represent Newbridge, Newport, Neath, and Cardiff, and achieve Welsh Youth, Wales U21s, Wales Squad and Monmouthshire representative honours.
Westwood continued his rugby career on the coaching side at Abercarn, Newbridge and Cross Keys where, as Director of Rugby, he spearheaded one of the club’s greatest achievements when they won the Welsh Cup and made the final of the British and Irish Cup and the Principality Premiership.
He also brings a wealth of commercial experience having worked as a Strategic Account Manager for the global brand Heineken and Commercial Director with Dragons.
