Dragons RFC are 'over the moon' to confirm the signing of scrum-half Niall Armstrong from Exeter Chiefs.
The Belfast-born half-back makes the switch from West England to Rodney Parade after making his Chiefs debut during the 23/24 season.
Armstrong came through the Ulster Academy before winning back-to-back BUCS Super Rugby titles with Exeter University.
The 25-year-old scored three tries in his debut season and made 18 appearances across two seasons before joining the Men of Gwent.
Armstrong will provide competition for the nine shirt next season along with Wales international Rhodri Williams, Dragons Academy graduates Che Hope and Morgan Lloyd, plus Wales 20s scrum-half Logan Franklin.
Armstrong said: “I’m really excited to join the Dragons and embrace the opportunity to challenge myself in a new environment, playing rugby in Wales.
“The club has put together a strong, talented squad ahead of the new season, and I’m eager to play a key role in helping us achieve success on the field.
“The chance to compete in the BKT United Rugby Championship and face top-level opposition is one I’m relishing.
“The hard work starts now with pre-season, and I’m really looking forward to meeting the supporters at Rodney Parade and proudly representing Gwent rugby.”
Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia added: “Niall is a talented and driven scrum half and we’re already enjoying having him within the environment.
“He adds to the depth we have at nine alongside Rhodri Williams and exciting talents Che Hope, Morgan Lloyd and Logan Franklin.
“I’m excited to see him kick on and take his opportunity with us over the upcoming season.”
