Dragons Under-17s ran in 12 tries as they defeated Scarlets at Ystrad Mynach’s Centre of Sporting Excellence last night, including a hat-trick for winger Ottis Mighten.
Two early scores from Mighten set the groundwork for a hugely impressive 78-5 win for the hosts with six scores in each half.
Fly-half Liam Lawlor, full-back Ellis Anderson, prop Oscar Friend and scrum-half Isaac Williams were the other scorers in a dominant first half display.
After half-time, Mighten added his third, before fellow wing Max Marshall, along with substitutes Harrison Flowers, Troy Raymond, Cole Pelopida and centre George Bradbury rounded out the scoring.
Dragons U18s coach Evan Lloyd said: "I'm peally proud of the boys."
"There were a lot of youngsters out there on the pitch tonight, but the intent they played with, some of the variations to our game was superb and we scored lots of tries in many different ways.
"It's great to just get so much talent on display tonight and the way that they went in attack today I thought was superb."
Some of those youngsters on show will be back in action in a weeks’ time when Dragons’ Under-18s take on Ospreys at Ystrad Mynach on Sunday, August 31.
