Wins were in plentiful supply in Gwent this weekend.
With Dragons grabbed a much-needed victory at home to Lyon 24 hrs after the two home SRC clubs secured convincing wins.
Ebbw Vale produced a superb 47-15 home win against Bridgend while Newport thrashed Aberavon 76-10.
With Dragons flanker Harry Beddall making his debut for Ebbw, the Steelmen scored seven tries with fly-half Evan Lloyd scoring one and converting six for an 11-point haul.
Meanwhile Newport managed to cross the whitewash 11 times with a brace each for Lloyd Lewis and Chay Foster-Smith.
At the Ciner Glass stadium, Ebbw started quickly through a chip and chase from Evan Lloyd before once again utilising their driving maul to full effect with captain Joe Franchi scoring two of his three tries before half-time.
Franchi completed his hattrick after half-time, while there were also tries for full-back Morgan Richards, along with centre Ethan Phillips and Dafydd Thomas.
Meanwhile, Newport welcomed Dragons centre Harri Ackerman back to their side, while hooker Henry Palmer made their 200th appearance for the Black and Ambers.
Hunter Ward scored Newport’s first try after 10 minutes, before captain Ben Roach added a second with a quarter of the game gone.
Foster-Smith scored his first try after nearly half an hour before Josh Reid cantered over to make it 24-0 not long before half-time.
Second half tries from Foster-Smith, a brace for Lewis, along with scores for Lucas Welsh, Dragons youngster Joe Salter, Kyle Tayler and Josh Skinner along with a total of seven conversions from fly-half Carwyn Penny ensured Newport won 76-10.
Elsewhere, Pontypool were unable to make it a trio of SRC wins on the road at RGC, losing 26-12.
With fifteen minutes gone, RGC had scored three tries and led 19-0.
However, a textbook snipe and excellent score from Dragons scrum-half Morgan Lloyd, converted by Harri Ford, followed by a try from lock Dan Hill ensured the score was 19-12 at half-time.
RGC grabbed their bonus-point score just after half-time and that’s how the scores would stay for the remainder of the game.
Next up is another Gwent derby as Ebbw Vale welcome Pontypool to the Ciner Glass Stadium on Saturday with kick off at 2.30pm, while Newport welcome RGC at the same time.
