Dragons RFC joined our colleagues at DHL Stormers to pay tribute to retiring front row legend Brok Harris in Cape Town.
Both teams gave the front row ace and his family a special guard of honour pre-game as the curtain comes down on an incredible career that has seen over 400 games.
The Men of Gwent then joined in a post-match presentation on the field at DHL Stadium in Cape Town with Head Coach Filo Tiatia speaking of his admiration for a player who hoes down in folklore at Rodney Parade.
“Brok is a legend,” said Tiatia. “I’ve never coached him, and I’ve only seen the highlight reels, but the players that have played with him speak very highly of him.
“I just met him on the pitch for the first time with his son and what a gentleman. He talked about the recent injury and not getting to play, and I guess that is footie sometimes.
“He is looking forward to his next journey as a coach. He has played over 400 games, so it is a massive milestone. I never reached heights like that as a player.
“We can only shout our accolades about Brok and what a gentleman.”
