Aaron Wainwright switches from eight to six in Steve Tandy’s second team selection ahead of the clash against Japan on Saturday.
Wales are looking to bounce back following defeat against Argentina last week and make four personnel changes to the starting XV with Olly Cracknell, Archie Griffin Louis Rees-Zammit and Nicky Smith coming in.
Elsewhere, Alex Mann switches from blindside to openside flanker with Dewi Lake taking over the captaincy.
Blair Murray, Rees-Zammit and Josh Adams start in the back three with Max Llewellyn and Ben Thomas continuing their partnership in the centres.
Dan Edwards and Tomos Williams are at half-back following the latter’s score against Los Pumas.
In the front row, Lake is sandwiched between two changed props in Smith and Griffin but there is continuity at lock with Dafydd Jenkins and Adam Beard.
Wainwright, Mann and Cracknell form the back row.
The replacements are - forwards Liam Belcher, Rhys Carré, Keiron Assiratti, Freddie Thomas and Taine Plumtree, plus backs Kieran Hardy, Jarrod Evans and Nick Tompkins.
Tandy said: “I think we've definitely seen lots of how we want to play against Argentina.”
“There was lots to be pleased about – our attack I thought was excellent and I saw a lot of physicality – but there's lots to improve.
“So that's what we've been focusing on. We're looking to build on the first performance into this weekend.”
