New Dragons signing Ereatara Enari and outside back Fine Inisi suffered defeats as Samoa and Tonga lost in their respective Nations Cup fixtures.
Enari's Samoa suffered a loss in Chile on Saturday after losing by 11 points to Georgia in the recent Nations Cup fixtures, resulting in an end to their three wins from three record and leaving Georgia undefeated in the inaugural competition.
Enari started at scrum half for Samoa before being replaced in the 50th minute and later going back on to finish with a last seven minute push.
Unfortunately, there was not much luck for Tonga either, as they lost 32-19 against Spain, with Dragons back Inisi playing the full match.
Despite Tonga's physical defensive efforts, the Spanish opposition managed to match the challenge, scoring four tries courtesy of Estaislao Bay and Antonio Ray in the first half, and Ignacio Pinerio Molla and Inaki Mateu in the second half.
Both teams will be looking to bounce back this weekend as Tonga play Portugal on Saturday (kick-off 9:45pm UK time) and Samoa face Romania also this Saturday (kick-off 3:30pm UK time).
