It’s been another busy 12 months of action at Rodney Parade as our venue in heart of Newport has hosted a wide range of events – from top class rugby and football to concerts, awards nights and community events!
A bumper season of action saw an incredible 102 games played on the stadium pitch as the Men of Gwent went into battle alongside the likes of Newport County and Newport RFC.
And for the team at Rodney Parade, the action comes thick and fast every single week of the year.
We’ve welcomed Wales Under-20s in the Six Nations, hosted WRU Finals and the annual WRU Dragons Cup plus the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship finals returned for a second season.
The FAW has held finals with us, we’ve been home to Newport District Finals, and our award-winning Dragons Community team hosted a range of provisions, plus Clubfest as over 900 children took centre stage.
It’s not just rugby and football at Rodney Parade. We held charity boxing matches, horse racing preview nights and even welcomed the stars of darts to our home.
And it’s been just as busy away from the pitch!
We held the Live Aid concert las August – as we paid homage to the legendary Live Aid’ 85 show that rocked the world – while our annual Fireworks on Parade event saw thousands watch us light up the night sky.
Rodney Parade has become the place to hold award nights in the city with the inaugural Newport Business Awards celebrated at our home alongside several club sides. And, of course, the Dragons RFC End of Season Awards was a superb black-tie event.
Our conference and events business continues to thrive and grow year on year. Steeped in over 140 years of rich Welsh heritage and home to Dragon RFC and Newport County AFC, it’s where great memories are made here.

As the dust settles on a busy 12 months and the pitch begins its summer renovation, the work does not stop for the team behind the team, headed up by Head of Stadium Operations, Jon Raymond. From groundstaff to the bars team, events staff to maintenance crew - all working hard together to deliver the best we possibly can.
A huge thanks to everyone who has visited us over the last 12 months. Now we look forward to another successful – and even busier – year ahead!
