Bath lead charge as quarter-finals start

The race to Rodney Parade in the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals continues today (Wednesday, March 25) as the focus turns to the men’s side of the competition.

League winners Bath face eighth placed Cardiff University at home in the first tie to take place. The winner of this tie will have the home tie in the semi-finals.

In the second tie of the quarter finals, fourth placed Nottingham will welcome fifth placed Durham - when these two teams met earlier in the season the game finished in a 45-point affair with Nottingham winning by three points at home.

Second place Loughborough - who finished nearly 20 points clear of third place - also have a home tie as they welcome seventh placed Hartpury. One of these two also get a home tie in the semi-finals.

Exeter, who finished third, or Cardiff Met, who finished sixth, will compete in the final tie of the quarter finals. When these two met earlier in the season, the Archers won the game by two points in a game finishing 30-28.

The last four in the women’s draw is now confirmed after three thrilling quarter-finals.

Brunel edged a thriller at Cardiff Met 36-26 and they will now meet Hartpury - who won the league by a huge 17 points and had a bye straight through to the semi-finals.

Loughborough continued a charge for the final at the home of the Dragons as they rattled up an impressive 82-0 win over Cardiff.

They will face Exeter – victors over Edinburgh – in the semi-finals for a place in the finals on Wednesday April 22.
