Gwent Derby As SRC Clubs Return To League Action

Following Cup action our Gwent sides return to Super Rygbi Cymru action with a bang with a Gwent derby.

Ebbw Vale host Newport in a rematch of the extra-time Cup thriller from the start of the month with the Steelmen looking for revenge.

The Black and Ambers will be hoping for a repeat result which could see them rise from fifth to third, if other results go their way.

Newport have three Dragons players within the 23 in centre Joe Westwood, while Cerrig Smith is joined by Brogan Leary on the bench with the three-quarter set to make his Black and Ambers’ debut.

Meanwhile for Ebbw, number eight is set to make his 50th appearance for the Steelmen, who will be hoping to maintain or even increase their 15-point advantage at the top of the SRC table.

Elsewhere, Pontypool host second placed Cardiff with seven Dragons included within the 23.

Prop Dylan Kelleher-Griffiths and hooker Sam Scarfe team up once again in the front row while Ryan Jones is at seven.

Logan Franklin and Harri Ford renew their Wales U20s half-back combination, while Rhys Cole is on the wing and flanker Luke Daniel is amongst the replacements.

Pooler could climb up to eighth with a win.
