Head Coach Filo Tiatia wants his Dragons to keep building momentum at the start of the new BKT United Rugby Championship season – as they prepare for another Welsh derby on home soil.
The Men of Gwent are unbeaten after two fixtures after a draw in Benetton was followed by a bonus point home victory over Scarlets at Rodney Parade.
Ospreys – following a two-game tour to South Africa - are next up in Newport this Friday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
And Tiatia is keen to keep building on recent home performances as Dragons look to shine under the floodlights this week.
“It’s not rocket science, if you win your home games you climb,” said Tiatia.
“You can build on the back end of your support, your 16th man or woman, and it's the energy that Rodney Parade gives these young guys. The exuberance to keep going, the belief, the fight.
“Home games are always important and it’s about how you take the opportunities and create them.
“If you take opportunities, you then turn the close draws from last season into wins.
“Ospreys have finished their short tour to Africa, and we've watched their games closely. One thing is evident: they scrap and they fight,” he added.
“It will no different this Friday night. We're looking forward to hosting them.
“Our guys love playing in front of the fans at Rodney Parade and we’re excited to get back out there on Friday.”
