Dragons RFC can confirm back row Ryan Woodman faces an enforced spell on the sidelines after suffering a bicep injury.
Woodman – who featured for Wales in the uncapped international against the Barbarians in June - suffered a bicep injury in the BKT United Rugby Championship fixture with Scarlets Rugby at Rodney Parade on Saturday, October 3.
The 22-year-old will undergo surgery later this week before starting his recovery and rehabilitation.
Senior Coach Dale MacLeod said: “Ryan's seen a specialist and he will have surgery this week on his bicep before he starts his recovery.
“Any one of that quality is a big loss to any team, so we're obviously disappointed for him.
“It's a big year for him as he’s part of that Welsh group that is building towards World Cup.
“But the good thing is that it’s not long-term and he'll be able to work hard again and get back to where he needs to get to.
“He has our best wishes and we look forward to seeing him back out on the field when he is ready.”
