Dragons RFC have agreed a new partnership with Rhino, one of the world’s leading rugby brands, covering both technical training equipment and rugby balls.
Rhino has a long history in Welsh rugby, having been an official partner of the Welsh Rugby Union for 20 years, and also supporting many Welsh players across the past five British & Irish Lions tours, but this is their first deal covering both equipment and balls with a UK-based URC side. The brand was also previously the official match provider to the PRO12/14 for seven seasons.
“We are delighted to agree a new partnership with Rhino and are excited to see this relationship grow in the seasons to come,” said Gavin Rees, chief commercial officer at Dragons RFC.
“Rhino's ability to provide first-class equipment to our senior squad, to utilise as part of our match day preparation at both Ystrad Mynach and Rodney Parade, is of the utmost importance to us.
“Supporters will also benefit from this partnership as Rhino become the official ball supplier at Rodney Parade.
“We look forward to working with Rhino on a number of exciting projects going forward and welcome them to our #DragonsFamily."
The new deal will see Rhino provide equipment such as hit shields, tackle bags, scrum machines and specialist training equipment, as well as Rhino rugby balls for training. In addition, Rhino – who provided the match balls for the recent Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Series – will also create a supporters’ ball collection.
