Player of the Match Thomas Young reflected on the opening day draw with Benetton with mixed emotions as Dragons staged a big comeback to claim deserved points in Italy.
The Men of Gwent did it the hard way at Stadio Monigo as they battled back from a 19-7 deficit at half-time.
Second half tries from Fine Inisi and Elliot Dee ensured two points - and it could have been more with a Che Hope try disallowed and Tinus de Beer hitting the post with a late conversion from out wide.
“We showed a lot of character, but there is also frustration,” said co-captain Young.
“The first half we couldn’t really get the ball and our discipline marched them up the field.
“Second half we were a lot better and we showed character, but there is frustration at the performance too.
“We’ve worked a lot of our game in pre-season, and we want to move the ball a fair bit. We showed glimpses of that.
“But silly errors and discipline in certain parts of the field cost us. We need to look at ourselves when we get back."
Dragons now head home to face four home games in five action packed weeks, and Young is well aware of the task in hand.
He said: “We’ve got a big month coming up, a big block coming up, but we know we have got to get some wins and that is something we are looking to do.”
