Newport Gwent Dragons flanker Jamie Ringer will miss the Dragons entire Celtic Cup campaign having been suspended for four weeks for a head butt in The Dragons Celtic League win over Connacht.
Ringer attended a WRU disciplinary hearing in Cardiff on Thursday with the panel deciding to ban Ringer.
“I would like to apologise to the team, the Region and the supporters for my reckless action,” commented Ringer. “It happened on the spur of the moment and I regret and apologise for my actions. I am deeply disappointed to be missing The Dragons Celtic Cup matches and the anticipated run in the competition.”
The ban means Ringer will miss The Dragons quarterfinal Celtic Cup match against The Scarlets at Rodney Parade.
