Newport Gwent Dragons' USA internationals played a major part in their sides 42-13 victory over Uruguay on the weekend.
Paul Emerick played on the wing and crossed for a try while skipper Mike Hercus kicked 17 points; four conversions and three penalties.
In a fairly even first half contest, the USA scored 31 unanswered points in a two-game series that will determine the last America's spot in the Rugby World Cup in 2007.
Hercus kicked two penalties in the first half before Emerick scored a try minutes before half time but Uruguay led 11-13 at half time.
In the second half the US side cut lose with Elwood Hullinger scoring a hat trick with Hercus converting and slotting over a penalty.
The two sides go head-to-head again on Saturday at Stanford University's Stueber Rugby Stadium with USA Rugby announcing that this international test match will be free for anyone who wishes to attend.
