Newport Gwent Dragons fly half Mike Hercus has been selected as captain to the USA side for their World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay.
Also included in the squad is Dragons centre Paul Emerick who made his debut for The Dragons on Friday night against the Borders.
Both Hercus and Emerick flew to the USA on Saturday and travel to Fort Lauderdale for a five-day camp before going to Uruguay to play in the first leg of a two-game play off that will determine who will go to the Rugby World Cup in 2007.
The first play off is at Montevideo on Saturday September 30th at 2.30pm (18:30 GMT) while the second qualifier is on October 7th in Stanford, California. The team that has the highest aggregate will go to the World Cup in France.
The USA team are in a training camp until Wednesday evening before travelling to Montevideo.
