Newport Gwent Dragons welcome Glasgow Warriors to Rodney Parade for the opening weekend of the 2008/09 Magners League season on Friday, September 5.
The game heralds the return of top class Friday night rugby to BBC Two Wales/2W for the autumn and kicks off the first in a new series of Scrum V Live. The live coverage is introduced by Gareth Lewis who is joined in the studio by Kevin Morgan and Ieuan Evans. Commentary is from Gareth Charles and Jonathan Davies. Digital viewers can press red for extra commentaries during the game, including Welsh Language, Tactics Talk and Fan Scene with Rick O’Shea.
“Could this be the season the new-look Dragons finally rekindle their fire?” says Scrum V’s Gareth Lewis.
Glasgow Warriors return to Magners League action after lifting the XV Challenge Vacquerin title in France last month, with convincing wins over Castres and Beziers. The Dragons will be hoping for a repeat of their 18-16 victory over the Warriors the last time both teams met up in January.
