The Dragons under-16 will kick-off their WRU Regional Championship campaign tomorrow (7.15), when they face their near neighbours Blues South at Cross Keys RFC.
The squad have been together since the beginning of June and have already got two wins under their belts after friendlies against the Ospreys and Filton College thirds.
Will Thomas, the Dragons Performance Development Manager, said: “The boys have put in two strong performances against the Ospreys and Filton College. There is also a new coaching set-up in place headed up ex-Pontypool and level-four qualified coach Gareth Linton, supported by former Newport players Dale Burn and Gareth Taylor.
“The Blues South will provide a very strong challenge with them they are a well-coached unit with current Blues forwards coach Justin Burnell at the reins.”
The Dragons will take on Blues South at Pandy Park kicking off at 7.15pm with the Blues North next up on August, 25.
