Following the success of last year’s internship, the Dragons are delighted to confirm that there will be a position for an intern available within the Media and Marketing department for the 2011/12 season.
This will run for the entire length of the season, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to experience life in a professional sporting environment.
This position will give the successful applicant the opportunity to experience life in a fast moving industry and would suit a student looking to fill a year-long work placement, or a recent graduate looking to break into the sports Media / Marketing industry.
Duties will include:
• Writing copy and helping to produce the Dragons match day programme, official website and all commercial and marketing literature
• Assisting the Commercial Department with Event Management and Corporate Sales.
• Assisting in the Dragons press office, both during the week and on a match day.
• General PR and Marketing administration.
The suitable candidate will possess excellent writing skills, strong I.T. skills, a good eye for detail and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; therefore, experience in journalism and/or producing publications would be beneficial. Knowledge of the Dragons and rugby union in general is preferable, but not essential. Please note that this role will involve working at weekends and some unsocial hours.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a significant portfolio across a number of PR and Marketing fields, as well as working alongside the Community, Sales and Sponsorship departments within one of the world's best known rugby clubs.
