The Dragons under 16's lost to their Osprey counterparts 27-13 at Llandarcy Academy of Sport last evening. On an evening that was conducive to open running rugby the Dragons started the better with great hard running by Tyler Morgan setting the platform for some slick backs moves. A couple of penalties from both fly halves opened the scoring until a chip from Kaan keen which was recovered by Seamus Casey who offloaded to Will Edwards with a man still to beat cut inside and scored under the posts, the try was converted by Scott Turner who also added another penalty and the Dragons went in leading half time 13 -3.
In the second half the Ospreys came out all guns blazing and tries from Joe Thomas and Jordan Adderley condemned the 16's to another loss.
Matthew Chapman Dragons backs coach stated "I was really pleased with our first half performance but we fell off in the second half, we must learn to play for the full 70 minutes, but overall we asked the boys for some pride after last week and they responded well."
The Regional championship takes a break for a few weeks but a fixture against Clongowes Wood College (Leinster Academy) has been arranged for the 30th of October 2pm kick off at Abergavenny RFC.
