Jones makes two changes to the starting XV

Director of Rugby Lyn Jones has made two changes to the Newport Gwent Dragons team that faced Glasgow Warriors last weekend in the Guinness PRO12.

Forwards T. Rhys Thomas and Andrew Coombs return to the starting XV as the Newport Gwent Dragons take on the Bucharesti Wolves on Saturday 6th December (KO 13:00) in Round 3 of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Jones has made no changes to the backs so fullback Geraint Rhys Jones retains his place in the back three alongside wings Tom Prydie and Matthew Pewtner. The centre paring of Ross Wardle and Ashley Smith also remains the same along with halfbacks Jason Tovey and Richie Rees also keeping their jerseys.

The front row sees one change to the hooker as Thomas Rhys Thomas moves from the bench to the starting XV he joins props Brok Harris and Dan Way. The second row also has one change made to it as Cory Hill is joined by Welsh International Andrew Coombs.

Looking forward to the game on Saturday, lock Andrew Coombs commented: “Bucharest have got a big scrum and driving maul.

“They pride themselves on the set piece and like to play to get penalties that they kick to the corner to get it going.

"They've got a back who plays 10 or 12 and he's got a long kick and will try to pin us into our corner, so we have spoken all week about our discipline.

"The one area where we were weak against Glasgow on Sunday was the scrum, so it's up to us up front to work hard."

The back row from last weekend’s clash against Glasgow Warriors remains the same with James Thomas, Nic Cudd and Lewis Evans all taking up their places. Dragons number 8 Evans also takes on the role of skipper for this European Rugby Challenge Cup game.

The replacements bench has three changes made to it as Elliot Dee, Matthew Screech and Dorian Jones join Phil Price, Lloyd Fairbrother, James Benjamin, Jonathan Evans and Hallam Amos.
