Originally from Haverfordwest, the young hooker joined the Dragons in 2011. He made his debut for the men of Gwent in January 2012 when they took on the Ospreys. Since then the twenty-two year old has made 48 appearances for the region.
Director of rugby, Lyn Jones commented, "I am delighted for Sam and his move West. When I was informed of his imminent move to the Ospreys in early November, I was pleased yet disappointed. Since finding out not once have I put pressure on Sam or any member of his family to renege the signed contract. I sincerely wish him all the best for his future in rugby."
