The Dragons Under 18s, who were captained by Leon Brown, opened their WRU Regional Age Grade Competition with a 29-13 loss.
The visitors came out fighting as the Dragons U18s gave away two penalties in the opening 10 minutes allowing the Blues U18s to go ahead 6-0.
The visitors didn’t stop there as the first half consisted of them gaining a 19-0 lead until they gave away a penalty within kicking distance, Josh Malson slotted over the penalty to add the Dragons U18s first points to the board.
The Blues U18s didn’t stop there as they added a further converted try before the half time whistle was blown.
Newport Gwent Dragons U18s came out fighting in the second half as George Gasson was first to cross the try line followed by centre Connor Edwards in quick succession. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough to take the win for the youngsters as Blues Callum Hall added another penalty kick to the score board, ending the game on a 29-13 win for the Blues.
