Lewis Evans to make his 150th appearance

Newport born Lewis Evans will make his 150th appearance for Newport Gwent Dragons this weekend when they take on the Ospreys in the LV=Cup.

The 27-year-old versatile back has come up through the age groups at the Dragons and played for Welsh Premiership sides Ebbw Vale and Newport RFC before making the step up to professional regional rugby.

Evans is one of five personnel changes and three positional adjustments, Director of Rugby, Lyn Jones has made to his team that faced the Harlequins last weekend.

Fullback Geraint Rhys Jones retains his place in the back three and is joined by wings Tyler Morgan and Ashton Hewitt. 19-year-old Morgan returns to the starting XV after recovering from a knee injury which he sustained during a game against the Ospreys in Round two of the Guinness PRO12. The centre pairing sees Ross Wardle move to outside centre as Ashley Smith returns the team to take on inside centre. Both halfbacks, Dorian Jones and Jonathan Evans retain their places in the starting line-up.

The front row sees the inclusion of Boris Stankovich as hooker Elliot Dee keeps his place as well as tight head prop Brok Harris. Lock Cory Hill is joined by Rynard Landman in the second row, Landman also takes on the role of captain for this match. James Thomas moves from the second row to his preferred position of back row and is joined by flanker James Benjamin and number 8 Lewis Evans.

Lyn Jones has made three changes to the bench as Phil Price, Jason Tovey and Matthew Pewtner join, Hugh Gustafson, Phil Price, David Young, Joe Davies, Ollie Griffiths and Luc Jones.
