Davies will take up his duties as chief executive on February 1st and will replace Gareth Davies who has been elected chairman of the Welsh Rugby Union.
Stuart Davies, who was capped 17 times for Wales, has previously worked for Swansea Council and most recently ended his tenure as executive director of Property Development and Management at Gwalia Housing Association.
