Open Evening Event

A Studentship Open Evening event will take place at the Centre for Sporting Excellence, Ystrad Mynach on Tuesday 11th April at 6pm. There has been an excellent response so far and anyone who has already expressed an interest, in addition to anyone else who wants to know more, is encouraged to attend. To reserve your place at the Open Evening please email Huw Bevan using the link above.

The evening will provide an opportunity for applicants to gain a full understanding of the process and to ask any questions they may have regarding the roles. The Dragons will be represented by Huw Bevan - Head of Performance & Rugby Operations, Ryan Harris - Head of S&C and Chris Jenkins - Head Physiotherapist

Strength and Conditioning

Our graduates will work under the supervision of full-time strength and conditioning coaches to deliver and assist with the daily performance program. This will include a range of strength and conditioning sessions, on-field sessions, and match day duties.

Applicants should have an under-graduate degree and be either undertaking or considering a post-graduate degree in Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science, or Sports Coaching.

Sports Therapy/Physiotherapy

Our graduates will work as part of an experienced medical team, alongside the Head Physiotherapist, Assistant Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Team Physician and our Consultant Orthopedic surgeons. They will be involved in the treatment and rehabilitation of professional national, regional and academy players as well as the development and implementation of a comprehensive screening and injury prevention strategy.

Applicants should have a Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy (from a Society of Sports Therapists accredited program or HCPC) as well as full professional membership to the Society of Sports Therapists or Physiotherapy membership of HPC/CSP.

A comprehensive portfolio of relevant work experience in both the clinical and team sporting environment as well as a Sports Trauma or first aid qualification are both desirable.

Please note Newport Gwent Dragons is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
