The Dragons Tag Rugby Festival is an annual rugby tournament run by Dragons.
The community projects at Rodney Parade have been fully embraced by the Dragons. The impact of the regional structure is that the community activities have expanded to incorporate more schools, more clubs and new initiatives. The projects have progressed and continue to develop links with educational organisations and the local community, which includes schools, local clubs, businesses and the youngsters of the region. The Gateway Rugby Project is just one of their community initiatives and is a sporting and social development programme. The Newport Live Sports Development Team assist the Dragons to provide the annual Dragons Tag Rugby festival for the primary schools involved in the Gateway Project.
The aim of the Newport Live Sports Development Team is to ensure young people in Newport have access to regular and accessible sport and physical activity opportunities. The team work closely with schools, teachers and partners to embed bespoke programmes to help them become ‘Hooked on Sport’.
